Rebooting 500 and 600 Series Roomba

Press and hold the Spot Clean and Dock button for about 10 seconds. The robot will now reboot. Resume back to using the functions as usual.

Rebooting 700, 800, 900 Series Roomba

Press and hold the Clean button for about 10 seconds. Once you hear a reboot tone, release the button.

Rebooting I and S Series Roomba

Press and hold the Clean button on the robot for about 20 seconds. Release the button and the light ring on the button will swirl clockwise in white colour.

HOW TO RESET ROOMBA ROBOTS

Though you can always factory reset your iRobot Roomba using the Roomba Companion app, you can also use the push button method to restore the settings to factory default.

For the app method, you can follow these steps:

  • Launch the Roomba companion app on your smartphone or wireless device and tap on the Settings option.
  • Here, scroll down to the end of the page and tap on the Factory Reset Roomba option.
  • This will now initiate the factory reset on your robot and the same will reboot after a brief pause.

Using Push button RESET method for different roomba models

Roomba Model 614

This particular model from Roomba does not support wireless connections. Therefore, you’ll need to reset the settings using the manual steps. Here are some of them you can follow:

  • Power on your Roomba 614 series robot using the CLEAN button.
  • Now, press the DOCK and SPOT buttons on your robot simultaneously. Release them after 10 seconds.
  • You will now hear a beep sound from the robot signalling successful reset. Allow the robot to reboot.

Roomba Series 600

  • Press and hold the DOCK, SPOT CLEAN and CLEAN button at the same time.
  • Once you hear the robot making a beep sound, release the buttons.
  • Roomba will now reboot.

Hard RESET

  • Connect your smartphone and the Roomba to the same wireless network.
  • Launch the Roomba companion app and tap on the Settings option.
  • Here, scroll down to the end of the page and tap on the Factory Reset Roomba option.

Roomba 800 Series

  • Press and hold the DOCK, SPOT CLEAN, and CLEAN buttons together.
  • After a few seconds you’ll hear a reboot tone play on the robot. This is when you should release the buttons and wait for the robot to reboot.

Hard RESET

  • Connect your smartphone and the Roomba to the same wireless network.
  • Launch the Roomba companion app and tap on the Settings option.
  • Here, scroll down to the end of the page and tap on the Factory Reset Roomba option

Roomba 900 Series

  • Press and hold the DOCK, SPOT CLEAN, and CLEAN buttons together.
  • After a few seconds you’ll see the LEDs glow altogether. This is when you should release the buttons and wait for the robot to reboot.

Hard RESET

  • Connect your smartphone and the Roomba to the same wireless network.
  • Launch the Roomba companion app and tap on the Settings option.
  • Here, scroll down to the end of the page and tap on the Factory Reset Roomba option.
Roomba e Series
  • Press and hold the HOME, SPOT CLEAN, and CLEAN buttons together for about 20 seconds.
